The Idea Behind Cartos
Buying or selling a vehicle can be a complicated process. Buyers often search through multiple websites, compare listings manually, contact different sellers, and struggle to verify important vehicle information. Sellers may also find it difficult to manage enquiries, update listings, and connect with serious buyers.
Cartos was created as a centralized automotive marketplace where users can discover, compare, buy, and sell vehicles through a simple mobile experience.
The client wanted an application that could make vehicle discovery easier for buyers while helping private sellers and dealerships manage their listings and enquiries more efficiently.
What the Client Needed
The client required a mobile platform where users could:
- Search for new and used vehicles
- Filter vehicles by brand, model, year, price, and location
- View complete vehicle details and images
- Compare multiple vehicles
- Save preferred listings
- Contact sellers directly
- Create and manage vehicle listings
- Receive updates about enquiries and saved vehicles
Dealerships also needed a structured way to manage multiple listings, review leads, and keep vehicle information updated.
The main challenge was presenting detailed vehicle information without making the application difficult to navigate.
Our Approach
We designed Cartos around the two main user journeys: searching for a vehicle and listing a vehicle for sale.
For buyers, the experience begins with a clear search and filter system. Users can browse vehicles by category, brand, budget, fuel type, transmission, location, and other preferences.
Each listing page provides important information such as vehicle specifications, mileage, condition, ownership history, price, location, and seller details.
The listing process was also kept simple. Sellers can add vehicle information, upload images, set a price, describe the condition, and publish the listing through a guided step-by-step flow.
The user interface was designed with clear cards, readable specifications, visual comparison options, and consistent action buttons.

Vehicle Search and Filters
Users can search listings and apply filters based on price, make, model, manufacturing year, fuel type, transmission, mileage, and location.
Detailed Vehicle Listings
Every listing includes images, specifications, pricing, vehicle condition, seller information, and available contact options.
Vehicle Comparison
Users can compare selected vehicles side by side based on price, mileage, features, performance, and other specifications.
Seller Listing Management
Private sellers and dealerships can create, edit, update, pause, and remove vehicle listings through their accounts.
Saved Vehicles
Users can save preferred vehicles and return later without searching again.
Direct Seller Communication
Interested buyers can contact sellers through enquiry forms, calls, or in-app communication, depending on the available contact options.
Notifications
Users receive notifications about new enquiries, listing updates, price changes, and vehicles matching their saved preferences.
Dealer Dashboard
Dealerships can manage multiple listings, review customer enquiries, update inventory, and monitor listing activity from one dashboard.
Security and Scalability
Security was considered throughout the application design. Cartos was planned with secure authentication, user-role management, protected data communication, image validation, and controlled access to listing-management features.
The platform architecture was also designed to support future growth. Additional features can include vehicle-financing integrations, insurance quotes, inspection booking, vehicle-history reports, online payments, dealer subscriptions, multilingual support, and AI-based vehicle recommendations.
The modular backend allows the platform to support more users, listings, dealerships, and service locations as the business expands.
The Result
Cartos transformed the vehicle marketplace concept into an organized and user-friendly mobile application.
Buyers gained a convenient platform to discover vehicles, compare options, save listings, and communicate with sellers. Sellers received an easier way to publish vehicle information and manage customer enquiries.
For dealerships, the application provided better visibility into inventory and potential buyers while reducing the need to manage listings through disconnected channels.
